Mosques grogues // The yellow bee-orchid

Sense cap mena de dubte hom podria afirmar, amb ulls clucs, que les orquídies són les plantes amb les flors més boniques, i tot així, no s’equivocaria. Normalment molta gent quan pensa en orquídies acostuma a imaginar-se espècies de jardineria o tropicals, però a casa nostra en tenim un bon grapat, formant part de la nostra biodiversitat. Potser moltes de les espècies autòctones de Catalunya no tenen les grans dimensions de les quals podem veure o trobar en floristeries o centres de jardineria, però no tenen res a envejar en formes i colors. Avui us porto, perquè pugueu fer un petit tastet, una d’aquestes orquídies silvestres, la mosques grogues (Ophrys lutea).

La mosques grogues és una petita orquídia que com màxim arriba a 25 cm d’alçada. La seva inflorescència presenta de 2 a 6 petites flors. Dites flors tenen una coloració violàcia sobre fons rogenc fosc i el característic marge del label groc. Una orquídia totalment inconfusible a casa nostra.

Les següents fotografies foren fetes un parell de setmanes enrere durant un tomb pels verals de la Conca d’Òdena.

One of the most beautiful flowers of the Catalan flora, and therefore of the European continent, are the orchids. Perhaps the wild orchids of our continent are not as large as those that we can find in florists but they have nothing to envy in terms of color and shapes. The photographs that I bring you are of the yellow bee-orchid (Ophrys lutea).

The yellow bee-orchid is a small orchid that usually exceeds 25 cm in height. Its inflorescence has 2 to 6 small flowers. These flowers have a characteristic color: violet over dark red in the center and an intense yellow color on the margins.

The photographs were taken a couple of weeks ago in Conca d’Òdena, Catalonia.
