El reietó / The goldcrest

El reietó (Regulus regulus) és una au de la família Regulidae. És l’au passeriforme més petita d’Europa (presenta una longitud de 8,5 i 9,5 cm). Aquest petit ocell és present en gran part d’Europa i en alguns llocs d’Àsia. El reietó cria en boscos de coníferes a una altitud de 900-2200 metres però durant l’hivern descendeix a cotes més baixes. La seva alimentació es basa únicament en petits insectes.

Les fotos que presento a continuació foren fetes en un jardí en el qual és habitual veure’ls moure pels arbres, saltant de branca en branca i caçant insectes.

The goldcrest (Regulus regulus) is a bird of the family Regulidae. It is the smallest  passerine bird of Europe (having a length of 8.5 to 9.5 cm ). This little bird is located  in much of Europe and parts of Asia.  The goldcrest  breeding in coniferous forest at an altitude of 900-2200 meters but during the winter descends to low altitude. His feeding is based in small insects.

The photos presented below were made in a garden where it is common to see them move through the trees , jumping from branch to branch and hunting insects .
