Avui us mostro unes fotografies que vaig fer fa un parell de mesos al Prepirineu català d’un dels ocells forestals que més m’agraden, el durbec (Coccothraustes coccothraustes).
El durbec es distribueix per gran part del paleàrtic. És un ocell que bàsicament s’alimenta de fruits i llavors grans. Durant els mesos de primavera també pot alimentar-se de les tiges d’algunes plantes i menjar alguns insectes com erugues.
Today I show some photographs that I took a few months ago in the Catalan Pyrenees. Is one of the forest birds that I like the most: the hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes).
The hawfinch is distributed over a large part of the Palearctic. It is a bird that basically feeds on fruits and large seeds. During the spring months it can also feed on the stems of some plants and eat some insects like caterpillars.
